Operating through its subsidiaries, FreightCar America, Inc. specializes in the design, production, and sale of railcars and their associated components, primarily for the transportation of bulk commodities and containerized freight across North America. The company's operations are organized into two main divisions: Manufacturing and Parts. Its diverse product offerings include a wide array of freight cars such as open-top and covered hoppers, gondolas, triple hoppers, and innovative hybrid aluminum/stainless steel railcars. They also manufacture specialized vehicles like ore hoppers, ballast hoppers, aggregate hoppers, intermodal flats, and non-intermodal flat cars.
